We are seeking a dedicated Primary Health Care Physician to provide direct acute primary health care services, including diagnosis, treatment, referral, and follow-up for our eligible patients in Ketchikan, Alaska. Emphasizing preventative measures, you will educate patients on avoiding health issues and adhering to prescribed treatments. Your role will include maintaining accurate medical records and collaborating with medical, pharmacy, and dental staff to develop the clinic's formulary.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide patient care using age-appropriate procedures for all age groups Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Late opening on Wednesdays
  • 8-12 patients per day
  • Diagnose health conditions for acute outpatient care and refer to specialized care when necessary.
  • Educate patients on their health conditions and recommend treatments and preventive measures.
  • Maintain thorough medical records for all patient interactions.
  • Set patient care goals and offer emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Audit patient records and perform quarterly peer reviews.
  • Manage workload, identify peak and slack periods, and adjust operations for optimal productivity.

Additional Duties

  • available for staff consultations.
  • Maintain partnerships with medical organizations at local, state, and national levels.
  • Resolve issues independently and provide instruction to peers on procedures and techniques.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Full, unrestricted Alaska professional Physician license.
  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school.
  • Experience/Training: Post-licensure professional experience, approved internship/residency training, or graduate-level study in medicine.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS
