Wake Forest Health Network Internal Medicine - Highland Oaks (formerly Brookview Hills) located in Winston-Salem, N.C., seeks a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join their well-established and thriving practice of 3 physicians and 5 advanced practice professional. This is a team-oriented practice with supportive colleagues and well trained clinical and clerical staff that go the extra mile for their patients. The practice offers a great opportunity for a Internal Medicine physician who is desiring a comprehensive outpatient practice including a diverse patient population.

At Internal Medicine - Highland Oaks, our services include:

  • Specialization in the management of chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol
  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses
  • Minor surgeries (repair of lacerations, removal of moles and cysts, etc.)
  • Treatment of minor injuries
  • Physical examinations and immunizations
  • Gynecological care
  • Geriatric medicine
  • Cardiac screenings
  • Specialist and community resource referrals

Job Responsibilities

The physician is a patient-centered, system-oriented teammate who manages the care of all patients within their primary practice/clinical setting.  The physician leads an interdisciplinary team to perform assigned clinical duties, while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Atrium Health, supporting our mission, vision and values.

Qualifications

Physician Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited medical school as a M.D./D.O.
• Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License as a current M.D./D.O.
• Board certification in primary care or related field from said residency.
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required

Working Hours

Schedule:

Service: 100% Outpatient care in well-established practice.
Operating Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Schedule: Full-time providers work 36 patient-facing hours and 4 administrative hours.
Call: Telephone-only call for some locations, rotation is light.
