Internal Medicine Opportunity - Morehead, KY

The role of a Physician is a staff position and must provide a wide range of care and services in their designated specialty. Must be able to provide consultative services to other providers and complete procedures entailing significant risk. He/she provides administrative and managerial support to Advanced Practice Providers (APP) if applicable and nursing staff. Physician sits on Hospital committees and service lines as needed and requested, in addition to working with Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI). Physician works with administration to coordinate patient care activities. He/she works with Hospital Administration and Clinic Administrators in their professional specialty.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Treats patients of SCH at its designated sites in a faithful, diligent, and skillful manner in accordance with current acceptable standards of practice in the physician’s professional specialty, applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and accrediting body standards.
• Consults with other physicians concerning matters outside his/her professional specialty.
• Assists in the training and education of students, interns, residents, and other personnel as requested by SCH in matters within the Physician’s professional capacity.
• Assists emergency physician in seeing and treating emergency department patients in a timely manner as requested by SCH in accordance with SCH’s specialty on-call schedule.
• Complies with all policies, rules and regulations of St. Claire HealthCare that are applicable to his/her duties.
• Shall actively support and participate in performance improvement to achieve excellent patient outcomes, customer satisfaction, team work, patient safety and efficient utilization of medical center resources.
• Maintains membership in good standing on the Medical Staff of SCH, maintains unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, maintains Board certification specified in the SCH Bylaws in his/her medical specialty and attends staff conferences, committee and service meetings and shall comply with the constitution, bylaws, policies and procedures, and rules and regulations promulgated by the Medical Staff of SCH.
Education:
Completion of accredited Allopathic, Osteopathic, Podiatric Medical School.
Experience:
Completion of appropriate residency and fellowship training in their professional specialty.
Licensure/Certification:
MD/DO/DPM: Current Medical License by Kentucky Board of Licensure required. In addition, the following certifications are required:
BLS AHA-ACLS ATLS PALS ALSO NRP
