Job Description
An El Cajon, California based client is seeking an excellent Internal Medicine Physician to fill an open position in a PACE community health center. An ideal candidate works well with adults and geriatrics, is attentive to the sequelae of chronic medical problems, and is a collaborative and interdisciplinary teammate. This role has a strong preference for candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish and encourages new graduates to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Attended an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
- Current CA license
- Completed an accredited residency program
- DEA certificate
- Board eligible or board certified in primary care
- CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- One year of experience in primary care in a community health center
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Skills in skin biopsy, excision of skin lesions, suturing, casting, sigmoidoscopy, phlebotomy
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose a variety of diseases and injuries in the adult and geriatric population
- Manage acute and chronic health problems and preventative and rehabilitative care options for PACE participants
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory studies, interpret results and create treatment plans based on results
- Perform therapeutic procedures, manage wounds and injuries, and educate patients on their treatment plans
- Arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services for patients on caseload
- Document all patient encounters efficiently and according to PACE policy
