Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/02/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Hospital in Georgia seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician to provide coverage from June 2nd thru August 29th with the possibility of extension. This is a Monday thru Friday 8a-4:30p inpatient opportunity with no call coverage requirement. The provider will see 20-25 patients per day. Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
