Internal Medicine Associates (IMA) located in Western North Carolina is seeking a BC Internal Medicine physician to join their multi-specialty group that currently consists of 5 Physicians and 6 APP’s. This group is the only Internal Medicine group in the County with specialists (GI and Pulmonary). This employed position offers: Outpatient Only with average of 18 patients per day Office hours are Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. On-site lab and x-ray Shared call is telephone only Opportunity to supervise mid-levels Charlotte and Asheville are within one hour THE PRACTICE: The Practice has been providing medical care in Western NC for more than 30 years. We have been and will continue to be recognized in our region for providing the highest quality of medical care to our patients throughout all phases of their adult lives. Located just 1 hour from Asheville and Charlotte with access to quality school districts in the area as well as proximity to an International Equestrian Center. THE COMMUNITY: Today, the population of the town is approximately 7,404. The town remains the commercial hub, and the legacy of "community betterment" can still be seen in the pride the town and its residents take in keeping it a beautiful and livable community. The communtiy is located within 10 miles of Rutherfordton, the county seat, and is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The town is interconnected by three US highways, 74, 221, 64, and one state highway 108. The community is only 15 minutes away from a well-known International Equestrian Center. More than 2,500 children participate in recreation programs sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department Two senior citizens clubs are sponsored by the recreation department with 150 members. In 2007 the town began construction on McNair Field. McNair Field was designed by McGill Associates of Asheville, NC. The park is named after a local native and the owner of the NFL's Houston Texans, Robert McNair, whose contribution made construction of the stadium possible. The community is also home to a Facebook Data Center that was opened in 2010. In 2016 the town began planning the Thermal Belt Rail Trail that extends from an Elementary school to Gilkey North Carolina. It was completed in 2019. In 2016 POPS or Pavilion on Park Square began construction. In May of 2019 the park was officially opened, it is home to two splash pads, an amphitheater, and a concessions stand.
