A well-established PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead clinical care delivery and support a mission focused on helping seniors remain independent while receiving comprehensive, community-based healthcare.
The PACE model provides coordinated medical and supportive services to adults aged 55+ with chronic care needs, emphasizing dignity, independence, and whole-person care.

π©Ί Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Medical Director provides overall clinical leadership and medical oversight for participant care programs. This role ensures high-quality outcomes, supports interdisciplinary collaboration, and guides medical policy development and clinical standards.
β Key Responsibilities

Conduct history & physical exams for new participants and periodic reassessments

Develop and oversee individualized medical treatment plans

Provide medical care across participant care settings

Participate in intake, assessment, and eligibility evaluations
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and nursing staff
-
Supervise Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
-
Lead clinical quality initiatives and QAPI programs
-
Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, and protocols
-
Educate participants and families on chronic disease management and care planning
-
Participate in team conferences and care coordination meetings
-
Support organizational leadership goals and operational planning

Participate in provider on-call rotation as required

Passion for caring for frail or elderly populations

Strong leadership and supervisory experience

Skilled in chronic disease management and physical assessment

Comfortable working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment

Ability to manage evolving clinical priorities
π Requirements

Active Massachusetts Physician License (Required)

Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (Required)

Board Certification in Geriatrics (Preferred)

DEA Registration (Required)

Previous supervisory experience (Required)

Minimum 1 year experience working with elderly or frail populations (Required)
