Job description

Job description • Medical Director role within a PACE program
• Reports directly to the Executive Director
• Provides overall medical direction and clinical leadership
• Oversees participant care, quality outcomes, and compliance
• Works within a collaborative, interdisciplinary care model

Job Responsibilities

• Provide general medical direction and supervision of participant care
• Oversee delivery of medical services and clinical outcomes
• Lead and oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
• Develop, implement, and maintain medical policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
• Provide direction and supervision to Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and APPs
• Serve as a clinical and professional leader within the organization and local community
• Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate and advise team members on diagnoses, treatment options, and functional implications
• Participate in team conferences, family meetings, and care planning discussions
• Collaborate closely with nursing and allied health professionals
• Establish and maintain operational and clinical goals as part of leadership team
• Participate in provider on-call rotation as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working with frail or elderly populations – required
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience – required
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine – required
• Fellowship-trained in Geriatric Medicine or Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine – preferred
• Indiana medical license (or willing to obtain) – required
• DEA (by time of start) – required
• CDS Certification (by time of start) – required
• BLS (by time of start) – required
• Clean malpractice history – preferred

• Permanent, full-time position

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to manage changing priorities based on participant needs
• Comfortable working in a creative, alternative healthcare model
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and calendaring systems
• Willingness to travel within the region as needed
