Location in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Medical Director to oversee the medical aspects of care within its PACE program. This role focuses on providing clinical leadership, supervising care delivery for frail and elderly participants, and ensuring high-quality outcomes within a collaborative, interdisciplinary model. The Medical Director will guide medical policies, support PCPs and APPs, and participate directly in patient care.

Dates / Schedule

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday

  • Hours: Full-time

  • On-Call: Participation in provider on-call rotation required

Job Details / Responsibilities

  • Provide medical direction and supervision of all clinical aspects of participant care

  • Perform histories, physicals, periodic and event-based reassessments

  • Develop individualized medical treatment plans and deliver medically necessary services across participant care settings

  • Interview and evaluate PACE applicants and contribute to Intake and Assessment decisions

  • Discuss diagnoses, prognosis, and care planning with participants and caregivers

  • Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams on treatment programs

  • Participate in family meetings, team conferences, and decision-making processes

  • Educate participants and families on chronic conditions and health maintenance

  • Supervise healthcare delivered by the interdisciplinary team

  • Order, interpret, and document diagnostic and laboratory tests

  • Contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives

  • Support development and maintenance of medical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols

  • Provide leadership guidance to PCPs and APPs

  • Engage in shared, collaborative culture

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts physician licenserequired

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicinerequired

  • Board Certification in Geriatricspreferred

  • DEA registrationrequired

  • Previous supervisory experiencerequired

  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with frail or elderly populationsrequired

  • Experience or added qualifications in geriatrics – preferred

  • Strong skills in physical assessment and chronic disease management for older adults

  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively within a creative, alternative care model

  • Participation in on-call rotation as needed
