Job description Medical Director – PACE Program

Schedule: Full-time, on-site Monday–Friday (no weekends)


An innovative, mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Director to lead a brand-new, state-of-the-art PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) clinic. This role provides a unique opportunity to help build and guide a new center focused on empowering seniors to live with dignity and independence while receiving high-quality, comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct primary and preventative medical care to PACE participants
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff including physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Support a multidisciplinary team delivering coordinated, holistic care
  • Lead and oversee quality improvement and utilization management initiatives
  • Serve as a medical consultant on participant grievances, appeals, and care decision-making
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with hospitals, SNFs, long-term care facilities, and community providers
  • Ensure robust documentation and compliance with all PACE program requirements
  • Participate in committees and provide thought leadership on best practices and evidence-based care
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with active board certification in geriatrics, complex care, palliative care, home-based care, internal medicine, or related fields
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in California
  • Current DEA certificate
  • Five or more years of clinical practice with at least two years serving an elderly or frail population
  • Previous experience in PACE, SNF, or complex senior care models preferred
  • Bilingual a plus, though not required
  • Passion for mission-driven care and improving outcomes for high-risk seniors
