Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led and accountable, 600+ provider group seeking a BC/BE Geriatrician to join the team at our Geriatric clinic located on the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Campus.

Enjoy a multi-disciplinary team approach with the support of in-clinic pharmacists and social workers. This position includes the potential for geriatric consult in our neighboring community of Nampa (20 minutes from Boise) and for those interested, physicians may also opt to make house calls to their patients and work in clinic with residents and medical students.

Well-qualified candidates should be passionate and knowledgeable about older adults' health issues, possess a geriatric medicine background, and desire to provide outpatient geriatric consultation and primary care with an organization committed to high-quality and compassionate care, healing the body, mind and spirit.

Schedule

Traditional work week, M-F with a minimum of 34 patient contact hours. 4-day work week available. Outpatient call shared equitably, 1:7, phone only.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree

  • Successful completion of an accredited internal medicine or family medicine residency program

  • Idaho medical license, registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA (controlled substances), privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center

Geriatrics Expertise:

  • Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), or

  • Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), or

  • Certification in the Subspecialty of Geriatric Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), or

  • Obtain such certification within 3 years of employment, or

  • Ten years of practice experience devoted primarily to the care of older patients
