The William N. Pennington Cancer Institute is expanding our oncology services under the direction of our new Cancer Center leadership to enable patients to receive high quality, evidenced-based care, while staying close to home.

The Oncology Wellness Physician will be instrumental in establishing a Wellness Center. The physician must be BC MD/DO and certified in Lifestyle Medicine and have innate ability to build trusting and positive relationships with patients and staff. Patients expected to be heavy breast focus, but, will see other Oncology referrals.

The Wellness Physician will actively consult patients through therapeutic lifestyle interventions with evidence-based methods in genetics and lymphedema treatment, as well as, weight management, exercise or regular physical activity planning, nutrition/diet, restorative sleep and stress management/mindset coaching. This is a unique addition to the Oncology team allowing the physician to take a “root cause” approach prescribing, treating, consulting, and coaching.

The recent affiliation between Renown Health and the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine forms the perfect foundation for ultimate success! We are fortunate to be able to count on the support of our leadership. We are commitment to establishing a NCI designated Cancer Center in Nevada.

POSITION AND HIGHLIGHTS:

• Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm
• Flexible scheduling options: 32 clinical hours per week
• Weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards
• New office space located in the Conrad Breast Center, currently under development, with diagnostic imaging, breast surgery, breast medical oncology, infusion center, pharmacy, lymphedema treatment all co-located
• Support staff in place: MAs, Advanced Practice Providers, Care Coordinators, dedicated Pharmacists, Nurse Navigators, Psychosocial Services and Palliative Care
• Academic appointment at the University of Nevada, Reno commensurate with experience
