A rare opportunity for an infectious disease physician to lead a well funded research department in 1 of the fastest growing communities in the United States is now available in Idaho. The ideal candidates should have experience with federal and non-federal research grants, confident in serving as the principal investigator for the department, mentor undergraduate students, graduate students, research assistants, and work with other BVAMC investigators and research staff toward the advancement of scientific knowledge in infectious disease. Current research is focused on mechanisms of pathogenesis of infectious diseases caused by Gram positive pathogens. Work in a 48-bed hospital with an adjacent 28-bed skilled nursing facility and an 11-bed inpatient unit for substance abuse patients.
