Join a respected healthcare organization in Lima, Ohio seeking an Infectious Disease Physician to provide expert care for complex infectious conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This opportunity offers a collaborative hospital environment, strong consult demand, and the ability to lead infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
• Treat bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections
• Manage complex inpatient consults including sepsis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, pneumonia, and resistant organisms
• Provide outpatient follow-up for chronic and specialty infectious conditions
• Support infection prevention, infection control, and hospital epidemiology programs
• Lead or participate in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients, families, and staff regarding treatment plans and preventive care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Provide on-call coverage as required by the department
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease
• Valid Ohio medical license or eligibility to obtain
• DEA certification if required
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• No red flags or disciplinary history on license
