Infectious Disease Physician Opportunity in North Carolina
Hickory, North Carolina
Full time
This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive Infectious Disease care across both a specialized infectious disease practice and a Ryan White clinic serving patients with HIV and complex infectious conditions. The incoming physician will join a respected program with strong institutional support and a collaborative team environment while serving a diverse patient population.
Schedule & Work Structure
• Rotating block schedule shared with two other full-time Infectious Disease physicians
• 7 days inpatient Infectious Disease service
• 5 days outpatient Infectious Disease clinic
• 9 days off between rotations
• Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Clinical Responsibilities
The physician will provide inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease care while collaborating closely with primary care providers and specialty teams. Care will include evaluation, treatment, and long-term management of infectious conditions as well as patient education and coordination of care services.

• Clostridium difficile treatment
• Hepatitis treatment and management
• HIV/AIDS treatment and long-term management
• Outpatient IV antibiotic therapy management
• PrEP therapy for HIV prevention
• Osteomyelitis treatment
• Tuberculosis treatment and management
• Pre-travel infectious disease consultations
Ryan White Clinic Services
• Primary medical care for HIV patients
• Specialty HIV medical care and long-term disease management
• Case management support services
• Medication and treatment education
• Access to substance abuse treatment programs
• Access to mental health services
• Benefits advocacy and patient support resources
Practice Environment
