Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking an Infectious Disease Physician to join their growing team in Scranton, PA.
The ID physician Deals with infectious diseases of all types and in all organs, including conditions requiring selective use of antibiotics. This specialist diagnoses and treats AIDS patients and patients with fevers that have not been explained. May also have expertise in preventive medicine and conditions associated with travel.
Job Responsibilities
• Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness. May prescribe or administer medications. Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that include patients' histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes.
• Call ranges from 1:5 to 1:8 depending on schedules and availability. Typically, 1 out of every 5 or 8 weeks, the provider will be on call for that week.
• Manageable workload of t 2/3 inpatient consults and 1/3 outpatient clinic. Inpatient teams range anywhere from 14-20 patients on average.
• Weekend work only during on call
• Opportunity for time set aside to dedicate toward Antimicrobial Stewardship is also an option for those applicants who might be interested.
