Job description Infectious Disease Physician Opportunity – Erie

Hospital-Based Consultative Practice | Full-Time | H-1B Sponsorship Available | PSLF Eligible

Position Overview

A leading nonprofit healthcare system in Northwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join a well-established, hospital-based consultative service. This role offers a strong balance of inpatient focus, limited outpatient time, and meaningful system-wide impact.

  • Full-time, permanent position

  • H-1B visa candidates welcome

  • Employed model with Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility

  • New fellowship graduates encouraged to apply

Practice Model
  • Join a collaborative team of:

    • Two Infectious Disease physicians

    • One Advanced Practice Provider

  • 4.5 days inpatient consultative care

  • 0.5 day outpatient clinic

  • Call schedule: 1:3

  • Provide telemedicine ID consults across multiple hospitals within the system

Clinical & Programmatic Highlights
  • Hospital-wide electronic nosocomial infection surveillance system

  • Active participation in a well-established Antimicrobial Stewardship Program

  • Close collaboration with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary teams

  • Fully integrated Epic EMR for seamless documentation and care coordination

Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Infectious Disease fellowship

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease

  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license

  • DEA certification
