Ghost RX is currently searching for Hospitalist Physicians to work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

  • Contract Period of Performance: Base period July 1, 2021 to Sept 30, 2021 with one-year option from Oct 01, 2021 to Sept 30, 2022

  • Define availability of each candidate by providing available dates for each candidate in your presentation: 26 Pay periods to include 1 block per pay period (Block = 7 days(84 total hrs. =12hr shifts Monday through Sunday 7p-7a) and an additional 9 blocks throughout the contract period that would be sched in advance.
  • the 26 pay periods mentioned above refers to one year, in alternating weeks. This base contract period is 3 months, or 8 pay periods in alternating weeks, with an additional 4 shifts scheduled in advance.

What shift times need coverage? 7 days (84 total hrs. =12hr shifts Monday through Sunday 7p-7a), additional 9 blocks maybe day or night shift

How many beds in the inpatient unit? 24 but average daily census less than 10

How many admits per shift average? Average 1

Does the hospitalist perform rounds? Required to daily document on each inpatient

What procedures are needed? Central lines, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Lumbar Puncture

Vent management required. NO

Intubations required? NO

Does the facility have an ICU? NO

Is the ICU open or closed? N/A

How many beds in the ICU? N/A

Does the hospitalist run the codes or are they only required to attend codes? YES

Does the facility have a UC? YES

What are the hours? 8AM -500PM

Is the hospitalist responsible for any UC coverage? NO

Is there an ER at this facility? NO

What support staff is on shift during the hospitalist shifts? Nursing, Respiratory Tx (on call at night: Pharmacy, Laboratory, Imaging, Social Work)

  • BLS and ACLS required AHA required? or are other forms accepted? YES, BOTH BLS and ACLS required and AHA required, no other forms accepted

  • All candidates must get a Season FLU shot and agree to wear a mask when on federal property (federal mandate). Is COVID Vaccination is required? If candidate has not been vaccinated will they be given vaccinations at this facility? FLU Shot required, COVID vaccine not required, but offered if interested
