Seeking Short-term Support with Immediate Start dates due to the COVID-19 Emergency Needs.
Internal Medicine Hospitalists needed at the New York Harbor VA Health System
The Hospitalist clinical responsibilities include patient care and clinical coverage of medical inpatients and patients under medical consultation. Additional duties will include evaluation and admission of medical patients from the Emergency Department and Primary / Specialty Care clinics.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:

Provide coverage for Acute Inpatient Medical Unit

Taking calls on Medicine patients in-house (inpatient, acute)

Managing emergencies and writing admission orders and completing required paperwork

Managing transfers into and out of the facility
-
Coordinating hand-off communication after hours

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Must be board certified / board eligible in Internal Medicine

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Heavily needed between 4/1/20 and 5/31/20, 12 hr shifts, 40-50 hrs per week.
