New need for hospitalist at 2 different locations in Birmingham

Must be willing to work at either location. Must have active DEA and CDS

Birmingham

  • Number of hospital beds: 409 beds
  • ICU beds: 50 beds
  • EMR system: Cerner
  • Start date of locums need: March 2020
  • How many shifts per month are expected to be covered by locums? 14 night shifts or 30 day shifts
  • Shift Times: 6:30a-6:30p, 11a-7p, 6:30p-6:30a, 7p-11p
  • How many MDs/APCs during the day? 11 MDs during the day 1 MD & 1 APC on swing
  • How many MDs/APCs during the night? 1 MD and 2 NPs
  • How long is credentialing? 60 days
  • Will Temp/Emergency privileges granted? Yes
  • Will FP trained physicians be accepted in addition to IM? Yes
  • Responds to codes
  • No procedures
  • What is the total census per provider during the day, including admissions? Daytime rounding is an average of 18
  • How many of those are admissions during day? 2-4
  • How many admissions per night, on average? 15-18 divided amongst physician and 2-3 mid-levels.
  • What is the total patient census covered at night? 200 inpatients
  • Is night-call required? If yes, how many calls on average are received? Cross-cover calls are taken by APC staff
  • Is it an open ICU? Yes

East Birmingham
