Cross Country Locums Formerly Medical Doctor Associates is seeking Board Certified Pediatric Hospitalist for Locums Coverage in NY
Coverage Dates: Monday April 10th 8am- April 20 8am
PEDIATRICS - On-Call Only
- Average # of patients per day: Varies. May be called by ED or Maternity.
- Expected hourly # of patients: Varies
- What is the makeup and general experience of the staff? Would be only Pediatrician on-call. Would work with ED Physicians, OB, Midwives, and Nursing Staff
- Med Assts vs. LPN’s: N/A
- Are there Nurse Practitioners and if so, does the locum Physician supervise them? No
- Is there access to other physicians for consulting? Yes, UVM Medical Center has Provider Access Number and access to numerous Pediatric Specialists at Vermont Children’s Hospital.
- Weekday/Weekend hours: 24 hour on-call
- Call schedule? 24 Hour On-call Only. Only required to come to the hospital when called in.
- If call, average # of calls anticipated per night? Varies. Maternity Department only has 250 Births per year. Also, AHMC does not have a NICU so our OB Service would transfer all high risk/pre-term deliveries, if possible. In cases that high risk/pre term delivery does occur, UVM will send NICU ambulance team as soon as they are notified that delivery is pending and transfer is unsafe to make. UVM/Vermont Children’s Hospital is 2-hour drive, but only 70 miles by helicopter as Lake Champlain separates Vermont & NY, so ambulance needs to drive around the lake.

On-call Pediatrician is required to respond to requests to come to the hospital. Additionally, the on-call Pediatrician rounds on any patient in Maternity and on Medical Surgical Floor each morning. Only a handful of Pediatric Patients are admitted to Med/Surg Service as we have no Pediatric Speci
