Job Description

Last Update: 6/14/21

Large Multi Specialty Group in Southern Massachusetts has openings for Nocturnist Hospitalists.

ICU skills are needed to run "codes" and "rapid responses" to intubate and start lines, and to manage ICU patients with the assistance of the eICU team, who follows ICU patients remotely overnight. Most of the overnight duties involve the admission and management of Emergency Room patients on floors, the telemetry unit and the ICU. There is no major trauma and the Boston hospitals are resources for complex patients who require transfer for tertiary care. Ready-available specialists to assist in patient management. The position involves only hospital work, with no clinic or outpatient responsibilities. Hospitalists generally work one week and are off one week. Nights shifts are 12 hours (7-7) and 14 shifts per month. Routine floor calls are taken from home by NP or PA from 10-7.
