Indian Health Service is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Nocturnaist Internal Medicine Physician to provide services at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM.
Qualifications:
• Physician must have a Doctor of Medicine accredited in the United States or from a foreign medical school with a certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
• Completion of an internship/residency recognized by the American Medical Association or AOA.
• Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
• Physician will need to complete security procedures to include fingerprint cards prior to start date.
• Physician should have current Federal DEA license
• Must have completed an Internal Medicine Residency
• Physician should have experience working in ICU
Indian Health Service or Veterans Administration experience PREFERRED but not REQUIRED
Physician ability to speak Spanish is PREFERRED but not REQUIRED
Physician should be able to show sensitivity to cross cultural and language differences and have the ability to work with interpreters in some cases for non-English speaking patients.
Description of Duties:
• Provide diagnosis, prevention, therapy maintenance, and rehabilitation to patients of all ages
• Physician shall interview and examine patients, review past medical history, request and/or perform diagnostic tests/evaluations
• Physician shall make a preliminary diagnosis, direct, prescribe, provide treatment, or arrange for specialized care or patient referrals
• Develop plans of care for patients evaluated
• Adhere to records documentation procedures
Work Hours: Sunday-Saturday 7:30pm-7:30am. 7 nights on and 7 nights off
Compensation is an ALL INCLUSIVE rate of regular, overtime, travel, per diem, lodging/housing, transportation, meals, taxes, and hourly pay at a flat rate.
