Join our dedicated team at a bustling inpatient facility in Ketchikan, Alaska as a Hospitalist. In this locum tenens position, you'll have the opportunity to provide comprehensive care to adult patients, including those in the ICU. The role is perfect for experienced professionals proficient in ICU rounding, with a focus on admission management and preferred procedures like ventilator management, intubation, and central line placement. This flexible assignment requires covering varied 12-hour shifts, especially night shifts, and provides a chance to be integral in maintaining quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care and manage ICU patients
  • Perform rounding and admissions
  • Manage ventilation, conduct intubations, and perform central line placement
  • Work independently, managing both med/surg and ICU units

Qualifications

  • MD with experience in internal or family medicine
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS from AHA or American Red Cross
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC
  • Documentation of clinical activity representative of requested privileges in the last 24 months (waived for recent graduates)
  • Preferred to be a licensed candidate

Working Hours

  • Variable 12-hour shifts, with priority for night coverage
  • Expect intermittent 1-week shift coverage

  • Proficient in ventilation management and ICU procedures
  • Strong clinical judgment and independent work capability
  • Excellent communication and patient care management skills
