Urgent California pediatric physician opportunity for a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician providing inpatient pediatric hospital medicine and neonatal care in Eureka. - Coverage Dates: October 16, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. through October 19, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.
- Coverage Setting: Inpatient pediatric hospital medicine and NICU
- Schedule: 24-hour beeper call with call-back as needed
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day designation in the staffing profile
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,610–$9,230

Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent pediatric hospitalist or neonatal-perinatal medicine experience
- Active California physician license
- Active DEA registration
- Board certified or board eligible within 3–5 years of residency
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Eligibility for temporary privileges and credentialing based on a clear professional record
- Current CV, completed application, recent relevant activity history, and responsive professional references
- Clinical experience with neonatal airway management, including newborn intubation
- Experience with neonatal ventilation and management of neonatal air leak or pneumothorax
- Experience with emergent UVC placement; UAC placement, lumbar puncture, EKG interpretation, and needle decompression experience preferred
Pediatric Hospitalist Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour inpatient beeper call coverage for pediatric and neonatal patients
- Evaluate and manage newborns, NICU patients, and pediatric inpatients
- Care for premature infants, including patients at 32 weeks gestation and older
- Perform newborn resuscitation and manage neonatal airway emergencies
- Perform neonatal intubation and support invasive ventilation management
- Recognize and treat neonatal air leak and pneumothorax, including needle decompression when clinically indicated
- Place emergent umbilical venous catheters and, when needed, umbilical arterial catheters
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures including lumbar punctures and EKGs
- Collaborate with emergency, anesthesia, nursing, and other specialty teams to deliver timely, comprehensive inpatient pediatric and neonatal care
