The Opportunity

A day hospitalist line at a 139-bed Prime Healthcare hospital in Michigan's Blue Water Area, working with APP support and an open ICU running around four patients with 24/7 tele-intensivist coverage behind it. Call is 1-in-3 and built into the salary rather than bolted on. Port Huron itself is waterfront — boating, beaches, and a cost of living that makes a hospitalist salary go considerably further than it does downstate.

What You'll Own

• A day census shared with APP support rather than carried alone.
• An open ICU of roughly four patients, with 24/7 tele-intensivist coverage for the decisions you want a second opinion on.
• 1-in-3 call, included in the salary rather than an unpriced add-on.
• A day-shift line — this is not a nocturnist role.

Must-Haves

• MD or DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Michigan license, or eligibility in process

• Prior open-ICU or tele-intensivist collaboration
• APP collaboration experience
• Epic familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

• $260,000 salary with a $30,000 bonus.
• Full W-2 benefits. Medical, dental and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid life at 1x salary up to $300,000; employer-paid long-term disability at 60% of salary; 401(k). The benefit plan year runs 1 October to 30 September.
• Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.

• Licensure is faster than you expect if you're coming from out of state. Michigan participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you already hold a qualifying license elsewhere, adding this one typically runs one to three weeks rather than months.
