Physician Practice Enhancement is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Per Diem Hospitalist to join our inpatient medicine team at St. Joseph's Medical Center. This position provides high-quality, evidence-based care to hospitalized adult patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes and patient experiences. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering compassionate, efficient, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform patient admissions, daily rounds, consultations, and discharges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, case managers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Comply with all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and clinical protocols.
- Provide cross-coverage for hospitalist colleagues as needed during assigned shifts.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Current, unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
- DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certification.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
