Academic Hospitalist opening in NC
Located in Fayetteville, NC; Raleigh 65m
Full-time; Permanent position
Seeking BE/BC
Balanced 50% clinical and 50% academic appointment
Overview
50% Clinical Time – Structured as one week per month of inpatient hospitalist service (7 consecutive 12-hour shifts; 84 hours total per service block)
50% Academic Time – Dedicated protected time supporting undergraduate medical education across all four years of the medical school curriculum
Protected academic time dedicated to undergraduate medical education across all four years of the curriculum
Opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient Internal Medicine care including admissions, consultations, observation patients, and transfers
Serve as a clinical educator and mentor during inpatient rotations
Participate in simulation training, standardized patient encounters, and OSCE development
Teach third-year medical students during inpatient Internal Medicine clerkships
Provide bedside teaching, case discussions, evaluations, and structured feedback
Mentor fourth-year students during sub-internships and residency preparation
