Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join our growing Hospital Medicine team at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut.
This is an excellent opportunity for physicians looking for a 7 on / 7 off Hospitalist schedule, a supportive clinical environment, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused hospital setting—while still benefiting from the resources of a large integrated health system.

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital serves as a vital healthcare hub for Northwestern Connecticut and surrounding communities.
Our Hospital Medicine program is expanding to meet growing patient demand, with a strong emphasis on:
- Improving patient throughput and reducing ED wait times
- Enhancing care coordination and continuity

- Supporting community primary care providers with inpatient management

Hospitalist Program Highlights
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off (block schedule for optimal work-life balance)
- Daily Census: ~45 patients (shared between day and night providers)
- Admissions: 5–10 per day
- Staffing Model: Typically 2 providers on per shift
- ICU Model: Closed ICU with specialty and intensivist support
- Environment: Collegial, team-based Hospital Medicine program
- Scope: Bread-and-butter Internal Medicine with strong subspecialty backup

Qualifications
- Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, in the State of Connecticut
