Key Responsibilities
- Clinical practice
- Perform daily inpatient rounding, admissions, and ongoing management of hospitalized adult patients.
- Manage a wide range of acute conditions across internal medicine, including cardiac, respiratory, infectious, gastrointestinal, and complex chronic medical issues
- Coordinate care with specialists in cardiology, general surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and behavioral health as needed
- Collaborate closely with nursing, case management, therapy services, pharmacy, and ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide discharge planning ensuring smooth transitions of care and patient understanding of post-discharge instructions
- Utilize hospital diagnostic resources including labs, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine imaging, and respiratory services
