Job description

Job description We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist to join the team in Palm Springs, CA. This is a permanent, high-impact role at a 387-bed tertiary acute care facility—the only Level I Trauma Center in the Coachella Valley. You will work alongside another OB Hospitalist at all times in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts. Full-time is ~7.5 shifts/month (2,190 hours annually). Part-time options available at ~5.5 shifts/month (1,560 hours annually).

Location: Palm Springs, CA (Relocation required; must reside in the local area).

Patient Volume: Practice attends approximately 60 deliveries per month; 30-bed community Level-III NICU.

Charting: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Pay Rate: $170/hour ($372,300 annually for full-time).

  • Bonuses: Additional bonus potential available for full-time employees.

Job Responsibilities

-Provide 24/7 in-house coverage for OB triage, deliveries, and patient evaluation/management.
-Perform surgical assists and manage emergency room OB/GYN coverage.
-Oversee fetal monitoring and high-risk patient care in coordination with MFM.
-Collaborate with affiliated Neonatology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine practices.
-Provide teaching and mentorship to fellows, residents, and medical students.

Qualifications

-Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) in OB/GYN Required.
-Licensure: Active California Medical License (or willing to obtain) Required.
-Experience: Prior OB Hospitalist experience is Preferred.
-Certifications: Active DEA (must be obtained prior to start date).
-Compliance: Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days active) required at submission.
-Restrictions: Not accepting Locums or Visa candidates (J1/H1B) at this time.

Working Hours

-Shifts: 24-hour in-house shifts only.
-Notes: Never on shift alone; two OB Hospitalists are in-house 24/7.

Skills

-Proficiency in high-acuity OB triage and emergency surgical procedures.
-Strong interest in clinical teaching and academic interaction.
-Ability to manage high-risk cases in a Level III NICU environment.
