Locum tenens hospitalist position
-
24-hour solo coverage at a rural hospital
-
Typically 12–15 hours of active work, remainder on call

Sleeping amenities available on-site or nearby

Critical Access Hospital
-
29 inpatient beds
-
6 ICU beds
-
-
Providers must be comfortable with independent decision-making and procedures
-
March 4 – March 9

Board Certified or Board Eligible

ACLS required
-
Must be comfortable performing all required procedures independently

Setting: Inpatient hospitalist service
-
Patient volume: Approximately 10–18 patients
-
Procedures required:
-
Central and arterial lines
-
Intubations
-
Ventilator management
-
Paracentesis
-
Thoracentesis
-
-
EMR: Altera Paragon
-
Providers evaluate patients in the Emergency Department at the time of admission
-
Sleeping accommodations: On-site call room; meals provided
-
Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 30 days
-
Emergency/expedited privileges may be available

Credentialing: Expedited locums process
-
Strong, collegial communication with nursing and administrative staff
-
Ability to manage higher acuity patients in a rural, resource-limited setting

Comfort performing intubations and procedures without backup
-
Willingness to provide in-the-moment teaching and support to nursing staff
