This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to serve a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, within a supportive and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care including admissions, daily patient rounding, and discharge planning.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring evidence-based, high-quality care.
- Collaborate effectively with specialists, primary care providers, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, anesthesiology providers, and emergency medicine teams to coordinate patient care.
- Lead multidisciplinary care planning, ensuring seamless transitions of care across departments.
- Order, interpret, and respond to laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures to inform clinical decision-making.
- Document all patient encounters thoroughly and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations, with appropriate interventions.
- Manage ventilator support and oversee respiratory therapy as needed.
- Participate in clinical rounds, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care to promote understanding and compliance.
- Contribute to hospital committees and performance evaluations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and institutional policies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Valid and active medical license in the state of Vermont or eligible for licensure.
- Certification or eligibility for ACLS and BLS.
- DEA registration.
- J1 Visa sponsorship required; candidates must be willing to work exclusively at this location with no more than one hour commuting distance.
- Prior inpatient/hospital medicine experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a rural setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- No procedural responsibilities required.
- Not suitable for locum tenens or candidates seeking overlapping positions.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $300,000 - $350,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
- Hourly pay rate: $19.50 (equivalent to an annual salary range), with comprehensive benefits including:
