Job Opportunity: OB/GYN Nocturnist in Longmont, CO

Join a forward-thinking healthcare team at Longs Peak Hospital, located in the vibrant community of Longmont, Colorado. This modern facility is dedicated to delivering high-quality inpatient obstetric care. As part of a collaborative and patient-focused environment, you will have the opportunity to work with a devoted team of 8 OB/GYN physicians and 4 advanced practice providers, enhancing patient outcomes and supporting the health of the Longmont community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care overnight, including labor management, deliveries, postpartum care, and triage.
  • Manage gynecologic consults for acute issues during nocturnist shifts.
  • Perform urgent assessments and interventions for obstetric and gynecologic patients overnight.
  • Collaborate closely with a supportive, collegial team.
  • Provide backup coverage and support for complex cases with multispecialty teams onsite.
  • Communicate effectively with day teams to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care.
  • Document all patient interactions, procedures, and consults within a fully integrated Epic EMR environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols in the OB unit.
  • Support a flexible schedule of 6–12 nocturnist shifts per month to maintain work-life balance.
  • Handle emergency obstetric situations, including rapid response for maternal or fetal complications.
  • Engage in the training and mentoring of residents or APPs during shifts as applicable.
  • Partake in hospital committee work or overnight process improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in OB/GYN (required).
  • Active Colorado medical license or willingness to obtain (required).
  • Clean malpractice history (highly preferred).
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days of active status, required).
  • DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start).

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Board Certification in OB/GYN.
  • Current Colorado medical license (or eligible to obtain).
  • DEA registration to be obtained before beginning work.
