Job description We are seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join our collaborative and mission-driven medical staff. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

Position Overview:
The Hospitalist Physician will provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges. The role requires strong clinical skills, comfort with ventilator management, and the ability to respond to medical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care
Perform admissions, daily rounds, and discharges
Coordinate care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care
Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Document all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes in the EMR
Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations
Provide ventilator management
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and clinical meetings
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and medical ethics

Additional Details:
No procedures required
Specialty backup available (surgeons for central lines, respiratory therapy, Emergency Medicine physicians, and CRNAs)
Not open to candidates commuting more than one hour
Not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates
Not open to candidates planning to hold another concurrent position

Requirements:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active Vermont Medical License
DEA
BLS
ACLS
Ventilator management experience
Experience running codes
Clean malpractice history
