Join a growing Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist in Rome, New York, providing high-quality inpatient care in a well-supported community hospital setting. This full-time Internal Medicine Physician opportunity offers a manageable nightly census, strong subspecialty backup, and 24/7 intensivist support in an open ICU environment. Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical management (approx. 5–10 patients per night)
• Perform admissions from the Emergency Department and direct referrals
• Conduct detailed histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
• Manage acute and complex conditions with intensivist consultation as needed
• Coordinate care with nursing, specialists, and case management teams
• Lead safe and efficient discharge planning
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and structured handoffs
• Ensure timely and compliant EMR documentation
• Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
• Active New York medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• DEA certification required
• Clean malpractice and license history
• 1 year hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred (not required)
• Strong clinical judgment and evidence-based practice skills
