Seeking a Board-Certified or truly Board-Eligible OB/GYN for a high-priority locum OB Hospitalist assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. This inpatient-only role focuses on emergent obstetric care with no gynecology responsibilities. Physicians will provide 24-hour in-house coverage in a busy OBED, supporting patients without a primary OB provider and participating in maternity transport services.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide emergent obstetric care, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Care for patients without an established OB/GYN
• Participate in maternity transport coverage
• Provide inpatient OB hospitalist services only (no GYN duties)
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation
• Collaborate with MFM and multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
• Board Certified in OB/GYN (truly Board Eligible considered) – Required
• Active Iowa medical license or IMLC with LOQ – Required
• Ability to start ASAP – Required
• Clean malpractice and background history – Required
• NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required
• Must not be local to the Des Moines area – Required
Working Hours
• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Commitment: Approximately 6.5 shifts per month
• Providers may not work more than two consecutive 24-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage required
