Exciting locum opportunity for an OB Hospitalist to provide inpatient maternity care coverage in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a flexible monthly schedule with high-acuity OB exposure, 24-hour in-house call support, and strong clinical backup including MFM and residents support environment.
Exciting locum opportunity for an OB Hospitalist to provide inpatient maternity care coverage in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a flexible monthly schedule with high-acuity OB exposure, 24-hour in-house call support, and strong clinical backup including MFM and residents support environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage OBED patients and obstetric emergencies
• Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Care for unassigned OB patients and maternity transport cases
• Provide inpatient OB coverage during 24-hour call shifts
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in OB/GYN
• Active Iowa License or Active IMLC
• Clean Malpractice and Background history
• Recent NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days)
• Must be available to start ASAP
Working Hours
• 24-hour in-house call shifts (7 AM – 7 AM)
• Approx. 6–7 shifts per month
• Maximum 2 consecutive 24-hour shifts
Skills
• Strong OB emergency management skills
• High-risk delivery experience
• EMR documentation (Epic preferred)
• Team-based inpatient care collaboration
