We are seeking a Medical Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) to join a collaborative inpatient behavioral health team in Anchorage, Alaska. This position offers autonomy, stability, and the opportunity to care for diverse patient populations with both medical and behavioral health needs.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Holistic, Patient-Centered Care
You will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients across the lifespan, integrating physical and behavioral health in a meaningful way.

Collaborative, Multidisciplinary Team
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and support staff—everyone aligned around exceptional outcomes.

Flexible Scheduling
Benefit from a 7-on/7-off block schedule that supports work-life balance, travel, and predictable time off.

Professional Autonomy
Use your full clinical skill set to independently manage medical assessments, treatment plans, consults, and follow-up care.

Excellent Clinical Exposure
Gain valuable experience treating patients with a wide range of medical comorbidities within a behavioral health setting.

What You’ll Do

Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital
Employment: Full-time preferred; part-time options available

You will be responsible for:

  • Completing comprehensive medical assessments, including initial H&Ps within 24 hours of admission

  • Conducting ongoing medical follow-ups and developing patient-specific treatment plans

  • Managing discharge planning in coordination with the clinical team

  • Collaborating closely with behavioral health providers to co-manage medically complex patients

  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing medical consults

  • Delivering emergency interventions within your scope until specialty care is accessible

  • Educating patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and health maintenance

What We’re Looking For

  • Active Alaska NP/APRN license — or the ability to obtain one

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

  • AANPCB Board Certification

  • Minimum 1 year of NP experience in inpatient, acute care, or hospitalist settings (behavioral health experience preferred)

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and dedication to patient-centered care
