Internal Medicine Hospitalist Opportunity in Alabama

• Hospital-employed Hospitalist group seeks additional Internal Medicine residency trained physicians to join a robust, rapidly growing practice as a Hospitalist.
• This is a 420-bed regional referral in Alabama. It manages its own hospitalist program.
• The current practice includes more than 25 full time board certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist physicians.
• Daytime Hospitalists work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift on a 7 on/7 off rotation.
• Average daily census is 15-20 patients per provider on day shift.
• Facility serves a diverse patient population spanning multiple age groups, socio-economic classes, and ethnicities.

• Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers and in hospital consults
• Admit and co-manage with intensivist support adult patients in critical care–no procedures required
• 24/7 pulm/critical care support for all CC admissions
• Manage patients in clinical decision unit
• 24 hour subspecialty support available for all specialties including presence of in house radiology physician presence 24/7
• 12 hour work shifts, no call required
• Average schedule is 15 shifts per month
• Throughput initiative to decrease patient stays
