General SummarySupports the Medical Group's drive to ensure that care is of high quality and value and is integrated across the system. Provides leadership to Medical Group clinical improvement efforts to ensure the widespread deployment of evidence-based practice for safe, effective, equitable, patient-centered and efficient care. Supports safety initiatives and continuous quality improvement through innovative, patient-centered approaches to care, reducing variation to ensure a consistent standard of excellence is demonstrated throughout the Medical Group. Improves Physician/Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) alignment with organizational mission, values and objectives by supporting and leading Hospitalist Teams in clinical oversight/leadership of Medical Group practices. Builds local capacity to analyze, improve and maintain performance while also reducing variation. Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Works as a member of the Medical Group Hospitalist Team and with WMG Operations to ensure the successful completion of Medical Group objectives and strategic goals. Helps foster behaviors among clinical and operational staff that promote effective, equitable, safe, coordinated, patient-centered and efficient care for our patients.Improves Physician/APP alignment with organizational mission, values and objectives by leading and supporting Hospitalist Teams in clinical oversight/leadership at their practice site. Supports Medical Group policies and procedures related to physician/APP performance, quality improvement and medical safety.In collaboration with WMG Operations Administrators and the Medicine Service Line, supports the improvement work of Hospitalist care in their efforts to transform into highly functioning, integrated care teams. Provides tools to the Hospitalist practice and supports individual practice and providers in continuous improvement.Serves as a first resource for the Hospitalists and WMG operations regarding provider performance.Promotes standardization of best practices, supports clinical innovations and drives Physician/APP change management principles to assure successful implementation within the Hospitalist team.Provides leadership to Hospitalist Teams/subgroups, clinical task forces and Electronic Health Record (EHR) work groups to drive adoption of standardized decision support and assure implementation of current guidelines in Medical Group practices.Attend at least one MDR daily. Identify barriers/delays to discharges and escalate to appropriate department. Trend and help with action development to resolve delays.Common Expectations:Is a physician that continues to see patients in a clinical setting.Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Upon Hire Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills, tact and diplomacy.Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, physicians and other healthcare providers as well as multidisciplinary teams across department lines.Must possess strong project and change management skills, requires critical thinking, conceptual thinking and decision-making skills.Must possess knowledge of health care issues and process improvement concepts.
