Position Summary

The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hospitalist Physician to join its dedicated inpatient medicine team in the Shelton, CT region.

This full-time, permanent role includes managing hospitalized adult patients, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and supporting inpatient quality initiatives. Physicians work with strong nursing teams, specialists, and case management resources within a well-structured hospitalist program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for patients

  • Perform admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning

  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in the hospital setting

  • Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, case managers, and support teams

  • Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation

  • Participate in patient safety programs, hospital committees, and quality initiatives

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Eligible for Connecticut state medical licensure

  • Prior hospitalist experience preferred; fresh graduates encouraged to apply

  • Strong clinical decision-making and teamwork skills
