Hospitalist System Medical Director opening in Western Pennsylvania (Permanent) Located in Indiana County, PA (& surrounding locations) 1 hour to Pittsburgh, PA Dates: Ongoing This is a permanent position. Opportunity Details: System-wide leadership role overseeing Hospital Medicine Medical Directors across multiple hospital sites Responsible for performance, quality, staffing, scheduling, and overall clinical operations Oversee the following locations: Telemedicine AHN Neighborhoods Lead clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives to ensure high reliability and high-performing teams Provide performance coaching, recognition, and career guidance to site leaders Support recruitment, credentialing, orientation, and professional development of providers Participate in key hospital committees and represent the organization when requested Full-time leadership role combined with clinical Hospitalist duties Requires 24/7 availability for physician leadership support and in-person presence 1–2 days/week Requirements: MD or DO degree Board Certified Hospitalist (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) Active state medical license(s) and federal DEA Minimum 2+ years of physician leadership experience preferred Experience in Hospital Medicine management strongly preferred Exceptional interpersonal, communication, coaching, and team-building skills Compensation & Benefits: $4,000 tax-free CME/BEA annually $6,500 + state/DEA license reimbursement in year one for new graduates 100% paid parental leave Paid military leave Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Rx benefits Short- and long-term disability (own occupation) Unmatched malpractice coverage including tail and litigation support Student loan refinancing options National group stability with leadership development programs (Scholars, Efficiency Academy, Engagement & Experience Academy) 24/7 live physician support and evidence-based clinical tools Location: Western Pennsylvania offers a mix of suburban, rural, and small-city communities with affordable living and easy access to Pittsburgh, PA (within 150 miles depending on facility) Area features outdoor recreation, hiking, parks, historic downtowns, and proximity to the Appalachian region
