‍ Locum Physician – OB Hospitalist

Muskegon, MI | 24-Hour Shifts | Rates Negotiable

Position Overview

A hospital in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Board-Certified OB Hospitalist Physician for 24-hour in-house coverage. This role includes managing labor & delivery, supervising residents, and providing comprehensive maternal and neonatal care in a Level II NICU facility.

Assignment Details

• Profession/Specialty: Physician – Hospitalist (OB)

• Location: Muskegon, MI

• Rate Type: Hourly – Rates Negotiable

• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house

• Shift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:00 AM next day (arrive 15 min early)

• Weekend Requirements: As needed

• On Call: In-house (part of 24-hour shift)

• Restrictions: No back-to-back shifts (24 hrs off required between shifts)

Unit & Practice Info

• Nursery Level: 2

• NICU Level: 2

• Gestational Age: 32 weeks+ (with Neonatology consult)

• Elective Inductions: Yes (with Pitocin)

• Deliveries: ~2,000/year | 130–160/month | Avg. 5–10 per shift

• Residents: Yes – teaching/supervision required

• Midwives/APPs: None

• Onsite: Lab & Ultrasound

• EMR: Epic

Pay & Reimbursements

• Rates: Negotiable (Hourly, Holiday, Overtime, Holiday Overtime)

• Malpractice: Covered

• Travel & Lodging:

  • Flights reimbursed

  • Hotel reimbursed

  • Rental car provided

  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified OBGYN – REQUIRED

• Active MI License – REQUIRED (no pending accepted)

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years post-training

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP

• Availability: Must cover assigned dates when scheduled
