Our client, a reputable teaching hospital in Brooklyn, NY, is hiring a Hospitalist, Internal Medicine Physician to join their dedicated inpatient care team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional core medical services in a high-acuity, teaching environment while actively engaging in medical education and resident mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an average of 15–20 patients daily on a teaching service incorporating resident and general medicine patients.
  • Lead bedside teaching rounds each morning and conduct afternoon huddles with resident teams to foster educational development.
  • Provide high-quality inpatient care on a telemetry-equipped, high-acuity floor with a closed ICU unit.
  • Collaborate closely with residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, case managers, and nurse managers to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
  • Utilize Allscripts/Sunrise Clinical Manager EMR for accurate documentation and efficient patient management.
  • Engage in academic activities by mentoring and developing medical trainees, contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Partner with 12-hour hospitalist colleagues to ensure proper cross-coverage, rapid response, and code team coverage.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with hospital safety and clinical excellence standards.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Eligibility for New York State medical license.
  • Strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and working within a high-acuity, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.

Some of the Benefits:

  • Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one weekend per month coverage required (additional pay)
  • Competitive base salary up to $220,000, with flexibility discussed during the interview process.
  • Quality bonus potential ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 in addition to base compensation.
