Position Title: Hospitalist - Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN)

Location: Salinas Valley Health Medical Center, Salinas, California

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

This is an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive in-house obstetric services in a thriving community setting, supporting high-quality maternal and fetal healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide round-the-clock, in-hospital OB-GYN coverage, ensuring continuous patient care and safety.
  • Manage labor and delivery processes for a low-volume obstetric population, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Handle obstetrical triage and emergency situations with prompt, evidence-based decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive obstetric patient assessments, including evaluations during labor, antepartum, and postpartum periods.
  • Assist with obstetrical surgical procedures, including cesarean sections and other necessary interventions.
  • Monitor fetal health through advanced fetal monitoring techniques, collaborating closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists.
  • Support patients cared for in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), operated in partnership with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
  • Collaborate routinely with pediatric subspecialists and MFM teams to coordinate comprehensive obstetric and neonatal care.
  • Uphold the highest standards of evidence-based practice, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications:
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in California.
  • Residency or prior experience in obstetric hospitalist medicine.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Residency within the immediate local area is preferred; relocation may be required.
  • Applicants must have current board certification or eligibility.
  • This role is open exclusively to experienced providers; new graduates are not specifically considered.
  • Not accepting locum tenens or visa candidates.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Annual Base Salary: $372,300 (equivalent to $170/hour)
  • CME Allowance: $4,500 annually
