Job Title: Medical Director - Pediatric Hospitalist
Join a thriving pediatric hospitalist practice in the scenic town of Hollister, California! This full-time position offers the chance to lead a dedicated team at a community-focused hospital. Located just minutes from the stunning Monterey Bay, you'll enjoy a semi-rural lifestyle while making a significant impact on pediatric care. This practice provides opportunities for newborn care, emergency consults, and hospital admissions in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Medical Director for the pediatric hospitalist practice at the hospital.
- Provide coverage for high-risk deliveries.
- Conduct emergency room consults for pediatric patients.
- Manage pediatric admissions of low acuity cases.
- Deliver well newborn care at the hospital.
- Collaborate with the affiliated Level-III NICU for newborns requiring intensive care and coordinate transport.
- Work a full-time schedule consisting of twelve 24-hour shifts per month with on-call responsibilities from home.
- Support a hospital that has approximately 500 deliveries annually.
- Engage in a collaborative work environment; commuting candidates are welcome.
Qualifications:
- Current Board Certification in Pediatrics (BC Pediatrician) is required.
- California Medical License or willingness to obtain one.
- Current inpatient hospital experience.
- Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.
- Must currently reside in the area or be willing to relocate.
- DEA must be obtained prior to start.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board Certified Pediatrician.
- Current California Medical License.
- Current in-patient hospital experience.
