A leading not-for-profit regional referral center in the Southeast is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine physicians to join its robust and expanding hospitalist program. With more than 25 full-time hospitalists, this well-established group offers a flexible, team-oriented environment and a predictable schedule. Work in a state-of-the-art 420-bed facility that serves over 600,000 patients across a 75-mile radius.
Job Responsibilities
Admit and co-manage adult patients in ICU alongside 24/7 pulmonology/critical care support
Manage observation patients in the clinical decision unit
No procedures required; no call responsibilities
Collaborate with a full range of subspecialists, including 24/7 in-house radiology
Use EPIC EMR for seamless documentation and communication
Participate in throughput initiatives to optimize patient care and reduce length of stay
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Eligible for medical licensure in Alabama
Team-oriented with strong clinical acumen
Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital setting
Working Hours
7 on / 7 off block scheduling
Average of 15–20 patients per day shift
No call required
Average of 15 shifts/month
Shift differential available for nocturnists
Opportunity to pick up additional shifts
Skills
Ability to work efficiently in a team-based hospitalist model
Comfortable managing a diverse patient population
Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
Interest in teaching opportunities available through ACGME residency program
