Position: Permanent Academic Hospitalist – Internal Medicine Residency Program
Location: Dothan, Alabama

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine (IM) Physician to join our Faculty team as a Hospitalist within our GME-resident training program at our accredited academic medical center in Dothan, AL. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in clinical education, scholarly activities, and meaningful patient care in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a core faculty member for the IM residency program, providing supervision, mentorship, and education to residents during clinical rotations.
  • Participate actively in outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and hospital-based services.
  • Lead and participate in academic activities including Noon Conference lectures, GME program committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care aligned with best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of residents’ clinical skills and professionalism through feedback and mentorship.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the academic reputation of the program (optional but encouraged).

Qualifications:
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine (IM).
  • Clinical experience in outpatient and hospital settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and leadership in medical education.
  • Possess basic outpatient procedural skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care and team leadership.

Practice Highlights:
  • Clinical hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekend, holiday, or call obligations.
