Job description Hospitalist Opening in Fort Kent, Maine Start Date: November 2025 Critical Access Facility Independent Contractor Role Schedule & Details: 7 10 shifts/month, 24-hour coverage Telenocturnist support provided Credentialing timeframe: 30 90 days Beds: 12 inpatient, 6 ICU, 2 observation, 13 swing Average Daily Census: 6.4 | Max Census: 20 Average Weekly Admissions: ~24 EMR: Cerner Community Works Subspecialty support includes Cardiology, General Surgery, Psychiatry, Anesthesia-CRNP, Urology (weekly) Patient Acuity: Cardiorespiratory conditions, post-operative care, stroke (CVA), and infections Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of autonomous practice experience Procedures required: Vent management, central lines, lumbar puncture, paracentesis/thoracentesis, intubations Active Maine medical license (or eligibility to obtain) Compensation & Benefits: Independent Contractor (1099 status) Base: $1,800/shift (or $2,200/shift on wRVU model) Travel stipend: $200/shift Eligible for PRIME performance bonus wRVU bonus: $29.69/wRVU over 13.5/shift average quarterly threshold Malpractice insurance covered by RPG Private accommodations with bathroom, linens, housekeeping, and 3 meals/day provided Ideal for experienced hospitalists looking for rural autonomy and high-impact care.
